One of the most important bodies of the student body is the 15-member Student Parliament, which consists of students from all faculties. It is the highest decision-making body of the TalTech student body, and its functions are similar to those of the national parliament. The work of the Student Parliament is divided between two committees: the Academic Committee and the Student Life Committee.
All students have the right to submit proposals and drafts to both the Parliament and its committees. Members of the Student Parliament are elected by TalTech students, who can vote for candidates running in their respective constituencies.
All TalTech students had the opportunity to submit their candidacy between January 26 and February 16. Across the five faculties, there were a total of 19 candidates: 5 in the School of Engineering, 5 in the School of Information Technologies, 3 in the School of Science, 4 in the School of Business and Governance, and 2 in the Estonian Maritime Academy.
During the voting period, which took place from March 2 to March 18 in the Student Portal, all TalTech students were able to vote for their preferred candidate.
The new composition of the Student Representative Assembly was announced on March 24 at a ceremonial appreciation evening held at the Student House.
